Description:

    Rushnik- a long towel with embroidery on both ends. The ornament of Russian national embroidery had semantic meaning. In the center of composition of embroidery- Mokosh- the goddess of fertility. The towel with such a symbol was made for young bride and was as a wish to have a good heirs. During wedding ceremonies towel was used to decorat a back of a wedding cart. With embroidered towel the groom and the bride were connected, that those would live "peacefully". With a towel covered a wedding loaf. In a bath left a towel for ceremonial rubdown of the bride.
