Description:

    The unique ritual crop bast-basket. It's made out of whole piece of bast with the birch-bark bottom. Very cude painting. The most interesting is the fact that this basket was used while first ritual crop of the corn (rye) to the communal crops (communal crops were in Russia 1861- 1912). Every year a virgin girl was chosen to make the first throwing of the seeds from this painted basket. After the girl men with big baskets with the seeds were gone to make the basic croping. It is really interesting item for collector of Russian art. Price by negotiate.
